The Orc Bombboat. This was the last ship I painted, and probably the one I
was happiest with. I had given up on contrast paints and went back to my old favourite ways
of painting and was pretty happy with the outcome. I also love the mouth on the front with the
mortar cannon in it, pretty cool!

The back side of the Orc bombboat... Perhaps a bit too much exposure on these pictures; my first time
using the iPhone, it will take some work to get it just right.

Another ship of the Orc fleet that I like the look of, pointy, all encapsulated, rickety,
and it painted up pretty nicely too! I used mostly drybrushing on the body to pick out the
details as well as washes. Otherwise it's all layering.

The Basilean Gunbrig here was the second Armada ship I painted, and like the first, I used contrast
paints and I absolutely disliked it... To me everything just looks so sloppy... It looks like a watered down,
poor-coverage paint... not like a shaded and highlighted paint scheme... I ended up using layering on
the green in the end.

Another picture of the Basilean Gunbrig, this one showing off the very sub-par windows. I was really
quite unhappy about the muddled, and stained look of the contrast paints...

This Basilean Gur Panther was the first Armada ship I painted and also the first miniature that I painted
using *almost* purely contrast paints.... and I absolutely disliked it so, so much. The contrast paints just
looked so muddy, like a coffee stain on the miniature. Never again... at least until I figure out how to paint
decently with them... maybe just as shading...?

The Basilaen Gunbrig faces down their likely demise as the Orc Blood Running is about to ram headlong
into its side... Maybe some of the crew will survive if the Basilean Gur Panther can route the Orcs and save
the floating crew...
