Went for a brighter version of the group shot as the other one blended the figures with the
background in a bit of a confusing way.

Necrons aren't an army I ever thought I'd play, despite their essential undead quality.
I guess it's too tough to get caught up in the release of a new version of Warhammer 40k
during a time when the world is so locked down and changed... These are the first warriors.

Here's a back image of the warriors in the previous picture. Marching towards the
beleaguered Imperial fortification in the distance.

The side image of the warriors, taken really because this is the one that tells the invasion
story the best :)

I went for an aged, chipped, but specifically non-metallic look for the necrons. I probably won't dom_import_simplexml
glowing blades for the rest of the warrior squads that I do, but I wanted to try out blending with the fancy contrst paints
that I'd never really used before. I've decided it's harder than just using pure highlighting...

A rear view of the previous nectron for completeness. The chipping was just donw with white spots/lines
that were then dotted/lined with black above. Very simple and quick, but still pretty effective.

A few bases of the scarab swarms as they buzz around their warrior counterparts.

The scarabs from the back, better view of the carapace shell.
