Dougram Crab Gunner - aug18_2026

The Crab Gunner in the Fang of the Sun Dougram show is one of the most iconic almost WWII inspired mecha because it crosses what
we know in our world with leg-driven combat armours. The version from the show is so cool, unfortunately the Battletech version is
much less stylistic imho. Still, it looks pretty cool with the other Dougram figures. Check it out in the
Battletech Image Gallery here.

Dougram Battletech Figures! - aug17_2026

I got back in to Battletech over the past couple of years, and it really is just a slow burn for me. I had started years ago,
but the rules were just too much. With Alpha Strike though I'm enhoying it a lot more so I dove in, and then when Aces came out,
I was all in. I knew about the Robotech/Macross link to battletech, but never about Dougram, and so I put in the time to watch the
72 episodes, and I was not disappointed!

Dougram is a fantastic show and right up my alley. In addition to the gritty,
realistic story, I also realized that the battletech vibe of combat is really rooted in the Dougram universe. It's much more about
a heavy machine and mercenaries and destroying parts of mechs, and hadn-to-hand combat, and death from above than any of the other
anime mecha shows. I strongly recommend it, and I can imagine that it happened in the battletech universe at the beginning. Anyway,
I painted up the mechs using the Dougram themes, check out the images in the Battletech Image Gallery.

Battletech Aces first round of mechs are ready! - aug15_2026

After the figuring out how to paint the clan mechs from Alpha Strike quickly but also satisfyingly, I decided to do the same
with the clan mechs from the Aces box set. This will give me a whole army of clan mechs with a cohesive paint scheme for whatever
future they may or may not have... they come together so fast that they are a joy to paint!
Check out the images in the Battletech Image Gallery.

20 year old Battletech Paint Jobs - aug11_2026

Since I've gotten back in to Battletech I dug up that old lance that I picked up back in the early 2000s. I repainted one -
that was the Griffin in the transgender flag colours - but I had two that were already painted. I was going to repaint them,
but then I decided they were good enough for the tabletop, and I have figures on this site thta were painted that long ago!
Go check out the images in the Battletech Image Gallery here.

The Empire recruits a Steam Tank! - jun07_2026

I saw this beauty on Etsy, one of hte Highlands Miniatures 3D prints, and I realized then that if I got a steam
tank, it would have to be this one. It's so characterful and fits the Empire theme so well! It took about four weeks to finish,
and it interrupted my Battletech project, but it just had to be painted right away! Check out all of the angles and
images of the Empire steam tank in the Empire Image Gallery.

The Clan arrives for Battletech - may13_2026

Working my way through the Battletech Alpha Strike box set I decided to finish up the clan all in one group. The highlighting
and blending was too much work on the IS mechs, so this time I gave up on blending about 1/3 of the way through and drybrushed
the rest. They turned out pretty well. Check out all the images in the Battletech Image Gallery.

Characters for Chaos - apr29_2026

In looking at the viable Chaos Warriors lists for Warhammer the Old World I found that some beastmen allies might be awesome.
The beastman shaman for some spellcasting power and some ungors with bows, or some kind og gors with bows anyway. This would not
only give me some variety, but also let me field archers! I would use the archers from Battle Masters of course. Still, I'd need
a shaman, so I picked on up, and then along with the shaman I finished painting Khagra too, who has been on my desk for years...
Check out the finished images in the Chaos Image Gallery here.

Alpha Strike Inner Sphere Trans Flag Themed mechs are ready to go! - apr01_2026

I've finally finished painting all of the Inner Sphere mechs from the Alpha Strike box set! It's a record in that it only took me six months, haha!
Anyway, I'll be painting the Clan mechs too, but in the mean time, check out the latest images in the Battletech Image Gallery.

More Battlemechs ready for battle! - feb21_2026

I finished another three Battletech Battle Mechs in the transgender flag colours to show support! The colours look great on those
figures, even though the new plastic Catalyst mechs appear to me to have soft details... back in the day the biggest complaint a miniature
could have aside from mould lines and not fitting together was soft details! Despite that they turned out pretty well,
check out the images in the Battletech Image Gallery.

Two Bretonnian Halberdiers from the 1990s - feb14_2026

Games Workshop had a made-to-order for the old metal Bretonnian Halberdiers, or men at arms with halberdiers. They had spearmen too back
then, but I just got the halberdiers since I already had a collection of Black Tree Designs Bretonnian-inspired halberdiers, and these would
fill out that unit pretty well! They painted up pretty well and also fit pretty well with the Black Tree figures too, so I'm happy! I painted
them up as immigrants from the south who had fought with a Bretonnian border prince who had returned to Bretonnia and brought them with
him for their loyalty. Pushing back against all the anti-immigrant nonsense out there these days.
Check out the images in the Bretonnian Image Gallery.
