Pillaging Sea Raiders  -  Posted: June 27, 2008
The raiders give no mercy on their raids into enemy territory... Those that resist are killed,
all others are taken as slaves. Houses burned, towers razed. Torment follows their paths!

Bold, dangerous, the marine captains gained their rank through their abilities!
I am really happy with this fig, and I think I have found a new great way to do
blond hair!

The most ruthless marines were women. In times of war, it is the women
who fight hardest to protect their families, their homes, and their lands!

Everyone knows it is better to die cleanly, than drown in armour. This marine
obviously makes up for in armour what he lacks in fighting ability!

This one turned out pretty well, although she is clearly modelled after a...
model. Her hair is all wrong for the period! She was also in a chainmail bikini!
She took the most mods to bring up to speed!

This one is one of my favourites. I love the Thor's hammer necklace!

I love these Wargames Foundry Shieldmaiden figs! Most of them needed
some clothes, but once I got those sculpted, they were excellent!

The whole crew, so far, ready for action!

Sea Raider ship's kid  -  Posted: June 6, 2008  -  Manufacturer: Old Glory/West Wind
No ship's crew is complete without a ship's kid, commonly called ship's boy.
In my fantasy world (as well as Robin Hobb's) woman fight and sail alongside men,
so this may very well be a ship's girl! She's armed with a sling as is ready to bring
some pain onto her target!

Sea Raider archer  -  Posted: June 6, 2008  -  Manufacturer: Old Glory/West Wind
Crazy-eyed and itchin' to draw some blood for sure!

I like how that even though these figs come from different packs, they
all have a common theme... Of course, they do share heads and whatnot, but
I think the effect is good.

Pretty characterful, and lots of pants for the strips!

I love the realistic sized arrows of these Old Glory figs!

Sea Raider with grappling hook  -  Posted: June 6, 2008  -  Manufacturer: Old Glory/West Wind
This is the only raider that looks specifically like a ship's crew. I put that
grappling hook onto an Old Glory spearman. The front hand is mine, taken from the
original sculpt of the corsair captain I did in the greens gallery. The rope
and hook are made from a paperclip for sturdiness and some plasticard. I am happy
with it!

Studded leather and a dagger, gnawing his teeth hoping for good loot!

The raiders aboard their ship readying to raid an unsuspecting vessel!

First Mate Sea Raider  -  Posted: May 30, 2008  -  Manufacturer: Old Glory/West Wind
The raider first mate. He wears armour because he isn't the most popular
crew member...

Female Sea Raider  -  Posted: May 30, 2008  -  Manufacturer: Old Glory/West Wind
One of Old Glory's revolting peasants, you can see that the term revolting could easily
be used for more than one reason. The sculpt is very sloppy, and the cast leaves much to
be desired. Unfortunately, it's likely they sell few of these, so I guess they didn't think
it worth their while to do them well. Still, I like the way this fig turned out!

The leather covered helmets were not uncommon among raiders, while heavier armour
was typically not used except by those in command.

Sea Raider  -  Posted: May 30, 2008  -  Manufacturer: Old Glory/West Wind
This one looks better in person, and also likes the eye make-up!

Sea Raider  -  Posted: May 30, 2008  -  Manufacturer: Old Glory/West Wind
The raiders of the north seas often fought with axe and short sword/dagger.
I like these figs for their character and strangeness. They aren't perfect but
they're characterful!

Bjarni, Sea Raider  -  Posted: May 30, 2008  -  Manufacturer: Old Glory/West Wind
Bjarni, always ready to rage into battle!
